Taymyr is a beautiful northern region of Siberian arctic tundra, covered in snow most times of the year. It includes Taymyr Peninsula and several adjacent regions. This area holds the delta of a half-continent long Yenisei river that goes from Mongolia through Siberia and falls into the Arctic Ocean.
Local nature is a vast collection of arctic flora and fauna – 35 types of mammals, more than 130 types of birds, 29 types of fish and more than 300 types of various plants and trees. Reindeer are especially plentiful in the region, estimating at 400000 animals.
